Paint It Black
Taking a page from Apple’s playbook, Nintendo is making its Wii available in black – if you’re willing to pay for it.
There’s been speculation about a black Wii ever since the black remote was put on the market in September 2009 alongside Wii Sports Resort.
So what does the extra money get you, besides a black Wii? Nothing – no improved hardware, no improved video. This version isn’t an upgrade – it’s a vanity configuration for people who are new to the Wii market and have apparently been holding out because they don’t like the regular white console.
The black certainly looks sleek and mature, but does that really make it worth more money?
